I'm curious when did cloud plans get restricted with its apps? On v4 terms, we were allowed to use all the apps freely unless you wanted to go up in tier to use courses or live tracking but v5 plans are now apps restricted? I went ahead upgraded my v4 terms to v5 thinking it'll be the same without reading the disclaimer and went to my site to remove any themes and such before requesting to upgrade. Noticed apps were disabled and everything I did in pages no longer accessible. Stuck on beginner plan meaning no other apps are included even if I did go up in one that's only blog, calendar, downloads, clubs, commerce but i'll still have to go up another tier just to use the page app. With the prices that are shown on the pricing, I'll be paying roughly 10-20$ more than the price suggested. I have check the blog (hasn't been posted since November 29, 2024) and Invision Community Insider basically upcoming features and release patches nothing was announced of this unless I missed a topic or comment that addressed this. I would like to suggest to have the "Mark all content as read"-Button back in the unread content activity stream. From a context point of view I would think this would be a good place as well. I haven't found a template hook where I could add it myself. Is there any? Länk till full forum post

Hello, I would like to suggest a small change to how admins enroll users to course from ACP. I have to add hundreds of users to the courses I've created and I find there is something not done logically. Every time I enroll a user to a course, ACP will tell me to the list of enrolled user :( I want to add 50 ir more users to a course, but it keeps on redirecting me to admin/?app=courses&module=courses&controller=enrollments instead of keeping be at the list of courses. It makes us waste a lot of time if you want to add a bulk of users. It should stay in the course where the user is being enrolled and not display the list of enrolled users, UNLESS there was a possibility to add a new user to any course from the list on enrolled users, and that posssibility is not available either. Currently, in Tag Settings on IC5, you can set a minimum and maximum number of tags per item, but this option is global—unless I’ve missed a setting somewhere. This means it applies to all forums and all applications (Pages, Downloads, Blogs, etc.) without the ability to customize it for specific contexts. It would be much more useful to have the option to define these settings per forum or per specific application. For example, in some forums, tags are essential and should be mandatory, while in others, they are unnecessary. The same applies to other apps: I might want to require tags in Downloads but not in Blogs. Adding this level of granularity would make the system much more flexible and adaptable to different community needs. I hope this can be considered for a future implementation! Thanks for your time. I would love to see improvements to the Recent Topics Widget, particularly in Minimal View, to enhance usability and relevance. Specifically, I’d like to request an option for the widget to display the Username and Profile Picture of the most recent poster rather than the original topic creator. Often, the topic starter may have posted years ago and is no longer active, making their details less relevant in the context of recent discussions. In a previous version, a custom code fix allowed this functionality, but it is no longer compatible with the current version. It would be great if this could be included as a built-in feature. Additionally, I believe the widget could benefit from more customization options, including: Displaying the most recent poster’s profile picture and username. Showing the most recent post time in a "Posted X minutes/hours ago" format instead of the time of the original post. Preventing multiple entries from the same thread (so only the latest post from each topic appears in the feed). Displaying the forum section the post came from. Displaying the amount of posts or replies in that thread. Ensuring that clicking on a topic takes logged-in users to the first unread post rather than the start of the thread. I appreciate the various view options currently available, but these changes would greatly improve the widget’s functionality and user experience. I remember that in v4 when you clicked somewhere in the read area (not on the links of user etc.) you were sent to the newest post of this thread? I am currently using XenForo and am planning to migrate to IPB the new version 5.0.x as I find it quite impressive. However, I have a thought that if I migrate here, my forum layout font will be broken. Because my forum is Urdu based, and all the content is written in Jameel Noori Nastaleeq font. I noticed that the editor of the new version does not have the option to add custom fonts. Is there any way to add Jameel Noori Nastaleeq to the editor? Or at least make sure that all Urdu posts appear in Jameel Noori Nastaleeq font on both desktop and mobile? If it is possible, please guide me on how to implement it so that I can proceed with the purchase and migration of my forum. Can we add Urdu font to the editor? This module of app can be enhanced? would be good option for us to enhance our private comunication with specific groups of customers: Ability to set which group can use it. Enable or Disable this for groups. Ability to enable Start new message and Receive message. Example enable Group A can Start new message to X groups or X users. Add automation flow inside the Messages, I would like use it to build our customers service channel, adding automation tools integration, outside app or inside app would let us to create an ecosystem of communication. if you start composing new pm (from top menu with icons or from messenger ui), it will bring up a popup where you can do so but this approach has one problem - if you missclick somewhere out from this popup, whole message will disappear without possibility of recovery 😔 imagine composing some long and important message and after some time you lose everything because of one missclick 😐 the fix might be easy, do it same way as with new forum topic - dont open it in a popup if it is not possible to save a draft in a popup, but on separate page 🤔 this could always show a draft first after starting a new message new-pm.mp4Länk till full forum post

Hello, I know I've been making post after post, but I have a questions about the tagging system. Let's say you have a tag for a band, we'll say 'Nine Inch Nails.' But if people want to follow everything related to the artist Trent Reznor, they would have to follow not only Nine Inch Nails but Trent Reznor, as well as the other musical projects he is involved with. We thought that making one unified slug across multiple tags might solve this issue but we got the "duplicate slug" error. Is there a way to "merge" tags so that someone just needs to follow one unified tag to follow all related ones? That really should have been available from the start. Not going to mince words here, the tagging system is really undercooked. I had to buy two separate modules just to make the tagging system functional on an organizational level. (Tag Page and Tag Suggestions [so members could 'add' their own tags for admin approval]). Länk till full forum post

I recently discovered that emails from the forum were not sending (100% my fault). I am not sure how long this was going on, but a nice feature/notification (e.g., similar to Dangerous PHP Functions Enabled) to add would be if emails sent by SMTP or PHP are not going through. I am not sure how Invision would build this feature without sending a test email. Perhaps under the hood, the forum could automatically send one test email a day to an Invision email account. That account would then identify the license/forum owner from the email. If the Invision email account did not receive an email on that day, a warning could pop up on the forum administrator page that they should test their email settings. currently when i paste a big chunk of code in code block, it makes high block of code with horizontal scrollbar because of couple of long lines 🤔 it would be better to: 1) make it collapsed by default with overflow-y: auto with possibility to expand it to full height by some button in sticky header or footer 2) wrap long lines of code by adding white-space: pre-wrap; which will change its look from this 🤐 to this 😎 Länk till full forum post

Noticed that the way Club Content is currently displayed across other apps in the suite is a little off. Links to Club Gallery/Forums in those apps, for example, include the Club Name in the title alongside the name of the gallery/forum itself, which looks pretty poor (especially when scanning pages looking for something to draw the eye to - just looks like a mess of text). ^ That's what the Club Forum and Club Gallery items look like on the Forum and Gallery apps. 🤮 I suggest we break out the Club Name from the Title and include it as meta underneath the Gallery/Forum name, with an icon to represent that it is from a Club. The Club Name should also link to the Club itself, in case users are interested in browsing that Club (and possibly even joining). ^ That looks a lot cleaner, and I think users will appreciate it too. 👍 Länk till full forum post

I have been using invision for over 10 years. I would like to start by saying that I have generally been a very happy customer over the last 10 years, with many supportive words of the invision software and always recommending people to use this forum software over others. I can not say for sure if in another 10 years time I will still be a customer :( Invision have dropped several key community features in the past, such as chat & native apps, many new community competitors have filled this gap providing better software. I genuinely have concerns about the direction invision is going, with the latest version looking more like a simply reskin then any real features added. I am one of the very few who has successfully built a business from a community and certain aspects are important. Invision was once IMO the leading forum/community software, but I do not believe this to be the case anymore. I pay invision directly for hosting, and would gladly pay more if all of the key features were there. Stripe Integration Invision only allows for Stripe and PayPal as default checkout integrations. Yet the strip API integration is missing many key features, 1. it isn't possible to turn on TAX calculations from Stripe as invision have not included that part (other community software has this) 2. it isn't possible for UK VAT registered businesses to remove the VAT at checkout, only EU is supported and this is through invison, other community software uses the Stripe payment gateway and allows for the VAT to be removed by entering the VAT number. I believe it may be better to enable all the features and let stripe handle the payment pages. I would like to stick with my forum on invision for the forceable future, but I am not sure for how long the software will remain relevant. The reskin (from some aspects, looks amazing. From other aspects it is over simplified and looks cheap and basic) I do believe a refresh is welcomed, so it is appreciated that something was done. But usable features may have been a better improvement, as version 4 also looks great IMO) Surely for a VAT registered business selling subscriptions through invison, a fully working Stripe API would be a welcomed improvement? I suspect not many of your customers ask for this, because they either are not doing things legally, or they are registered within UK/EU and not hitting the VAT thresholds so calculating VAT isn't a concern to them. Indeed it was not a cancer for me until 10 years later. I acknowledge that the large corporate/enterprises customers Invision have, are mainly using the software as forum software and not selling memberships. So there is likely a small % of forums / communities that require a fully working Stripe API. There are alternative community software that does offer this, as well as many other benefits, and invison are loosing market share to these competitors, so I do believe that it would be beneficial to add these features and increase the customer base of invison. I am not very hopeful that this will be added as I am not sure the team really understand from my side why it is an important feature to easily calculate the amount of VAT needed to pay. (a simple business issues) needles to say I am very disappointed that something I expected to be standard isn't included. If you do not want to fully integrate stripe, maybe there is an option within invison that can be added to calcite the VAT on all of the invoices? Forcing users to build their own custom gateway integrations at the cost of several thousands isn't great, this implementation should be done at the invison level IMO. After all you have dropped physical products, so the only way your customers can make a business from their community is by selling subscriptions, but you do not even fully support subscriptions as simply things like VAT calculations within Stripe can not be turned on as the API was not implemented fully (whereas competitors have done this and was one reason why I chose another competitor for another project) So in conclusion, please can you integrate the stripe API so that Stripe can calculate the tax owed.
