Hey, I started my website on the Beginner plan. $49 a month, just a couple weeks ago. I built it on V4, then changed to V5. I wasn't aware that I don't have Pages or Blogs or anything in the plan. I thought it was mostly a smaller plan for beginner-level traffic. Most importantly, these things just worked until now. I wasn't trying to cheat anyone, I just wasn't aware that I'm not supposed to have them in my plan. Then all of a sudden a few minutes ago my site becomes forums only. No warning, no nothing. I just go in and my site is suddenly just the forums page. Take into account that my website is supposed to be a combined blog and forums: the homepage is basically all blog. I'm posting things on social networks right now, people are coming to the site - even if it's a small number. So I get stressed out, I dig a little to figure out what's the problem quickly, and realize I have no applications other than forums, that they've been taken down, and that I have to update my plan and pay more immediately to bring my site back online and not disappoint visitors. I paid for the upgrade, but that experience sucked, to be honest. I think $49 a month is not nothing, but I guess you were upfront about your plans and pricing and it's fine, I just missed it. But just removing basically all site features out of the blue from my working site without telling me anything... That felt bad. Länk till full forum post

If I'm viewing a topic and select "Star New Topic", it does not bring up the topic pop-up prompt and takes me directly to the current forum topic form. This may be by design, but it leaves top level widgets blocking it on top, which makes the topic form not visible. After selecting, this is what is visible The image below is exaggerated view (stretched) by showing the entire length of the page, where the top two widgets are shown making the topic form below not visible. I'm excited to see that Invision 5 is finally out! We've been using it as our main platform since the beta testing phase, and it was definitely worth the risk. However, there's an issue I want to bring to the attention of the Invision Community Team. Our business relies heavily on the subscription system in Invision Community to generate revenue. We've integrated it with our games, and it has been a huge success. Our IC5 website's subscription page is our primary source of income. One of the main reasons we switched from XenForo to Invision Community was because XenForo's commerce system is practically non-existent, and they had no plans to expand it since it wasn’t their main focus. In contrast, Invision Community not only provides a great forum but also empowers users to monetize their platforms, which is incredibly important. In fact, I moved away from Stripe's billing portal in favor of IC5's system because it gives us, as administrators, much more control over pricing, discounts, and customization. While Stripe has to adhere to strict guidelines for large businesses, Invision Community gives us the flexibility to configure everything exactly how we need it. That’s why I'm asking the Invision Community Team to give the commerce system, especially subscriptions - a bit more love. We appreciate the coupon system, but we'd love to see more customization options, such as: More detailed configuration options The ability for users to choose different subscription plans if they pay yearly A better way to showcase subscription plans on the website Fixes for existing bugs, such as user roles not being properly removed when a subscription expires The goal should be a huge overhaul on the commerce system as its pretty dated, help us have the tools to grow bigger. Improving the commerce system would not only benefit users like us but also attract more businesses to Invision Community. The key is empowering us to run our operations smoothly without unnecessary complications. But again, I really do feel this should be looked at as something important. The Invision Community Commerce System has allowed me to grow my business and even buy myself a nice truck! I like the new forum display "compact view" that this site also now uses. I would like it more, if I had the freedom to have it activated for specific forums or forum category and have the classic view activated for other forums or forum category. I checked but it doesn't seem like it's possible to have it activated for specific forums. At the moment it's activated for all forums site wide. When using word expansion, it's only useful for desktop users as they hover the word that the expansion is visible. But that's not the case when you're on a mobile device. Tapping the word that should be expanded is just not showing. So the feature only works on desktop which is a shame for all the mobile users who wanna know what the abbreviation is of a word. Also in version 5 it's not easily visible that the word has en expansion. In v4 you had a dotted line under the word so you'd know you could hold your mouse on it to reveal the expansion, and the mouse cursor changed to a question mark but that's not the case anymore too in v5. The default overview in Events includes Happening Near You, with a large map taking the prime space. All our events are nearby, so the map's useless. I propose that Happening Near You be made a widget, and deleted from default Events overview. We'd instead use the Upcoming Events widget, which doesn't have the map and has many more display options. It's great as is. Others will wish to keep using Happening Near You, and can. This takes away no capabilities, and requires no new widgets to be designed. Länk till full forum post

My use case. I am creating a subforum listing a music groups song/video releases. I am only placing a line of text and a YouTube video in the post. If I click on one of the tags I used for the post, and view the the tag page, it just shows a blank colored image as the cover image for that post. Initially I would like to use the YT videos thumbnail as this image that would show up in grid view, which I download myself, but I do not want to place this image in the post itself. The YT video already shows this image in the post. basically ... Is there any way to feature a image as a "cover image" for a post, without the image actually being inserted in the post itself? @Ehren Thank you. Länk till full forum post

It seems I can no longer simply type :) and have it convert to a smile. This behavior seems to be universal everywhere, FB, Word, text apps, email... Also, if I click on the smiley list, it takes a lot longer than before to load. Will the :) functionality be added back? Thanks Länk till full forum post

Please return "Mark site read" to the bottom of the site next to "Unread content". When I view the site (mine or here), I start at the top, scroll to the bottom, load more activity (if there is any), right click (Windows) on the topics I want to read and say open in new tab, then click "Mark site read". Now I need to scroll back to the top, click my name, find in a list "Mark all content read", click that. Also, the page used to refresh to show all topics are now read - now it is almost imperceptible that anything happened. Thanks Länk till full forum post

Please return the star icon for threads I have posted in. My browser favorites are set view Unread Content. I usually look for the star next to a post to see if I posted there. Unless I am missing a setting, I no longer see that. Länk till full forum post

On the who's online block, the number of members and guests have been removed. You can access the full list and it will tell you the number of members online, not the guests, which I'm not hugely bothered by as many were bots. I just kind of miss having that number there to gauge how busy it is on the home page than trying to guess looking at a block of text. I renamed in languages Whos Online to Fans Online to suit my site, but like this would be nice whilst retaining the language string so a Taylor Swift fan site could have 267 Swifties Online for example. Don't feel like this should be on a forum but don't know a better way to ask. I'm really wondering why Alternative contacts are allowed to pay for a license but can't download the software corresponding to it. The button is available and only shows the following notification: We are working on our forum with 3 developers and sharing login info is out of the question (something about security?). Currently I need to forward the files, which is fine for now, but having the contacts option, let them pay but not download is weird. Hopefully this a "bug" and it should be available to all contacts or this will be changed soon to being able to download. Länk till full forum post

Please could you improve the Calendar Event rich embeds, by showing the current year instead of the year it was created, or adding an option setting to hide/display the date format? I use the WYSIWYG Pages Blocks on a page created with Pages app and the rich embedded links that are auto generated show the original dates when the events were actually created. It’s kind of ugly and confusing to readers. Here’s an example, I have 12 recurring calendar events with monthly gardening tips. When embedded into a Pages block, by pasting a link to the actual calendar event, the original dates show twice in each single event embed and the dates are from 2021, some say 2019. It would be better to just show the name of the month or the current/future year since they are recurring. Many thanks! Länk till full forum post
